Day 12: Catching Fire

Opportunities don’t happen, you create them.
— Chris Grosser

Today is Monday. To many, the worst possible day of the week. But you don't have to dread it. In fact, set it on fire. And that's what I plan on doing today.

I've started to tell people about my business venture and fortunately, all of them responded with great excitement and positivity. I feel transparency is important because you get honest feedback from those that are close with you. I've even told my colleagues at work so they are aware of my intentions to prevent any conflict of interest. The interesting thing that I didn't expect is that people were genuinely on board with my business idea. In fact, they were getting fired up about it. And in turn, it fired me up even more.

The thing about fire is that it's contagious. The birth of a spark can lead to a wildfire. I encourage you today to be encouraged. Talk to people about your passions and be transparent. It's the Biblical principal of iron sharpening iron. And when metal meets, sparks fly.

Today, I'm going to schedule meetings with certain people this week to tell them about my business venture and seek advice and encouragement. I think I'm ready to write up a business plan.

I'm not going to let Monday tell me what to do. I'm going to set it on fire. I really love the quote at the top of the page, but I'm going to modify it to fit today's post. "Fires don't happen, you create them." Just don't take this quote literally.
