Cleaning the office yesterday and assessing my calendar to strategize tasks really helped clear my mind from the clutter of busy life. This morning, however, I woke up with a thousand thoughts running through my mind with the work the needs to be done this week. I even felt the knots in back growing. Instead of stressing out about it, I decided to go on a quick 15-minute jog to begin my day right.
I'm not a runner by nature. In fact, I used to hate it. My wife is a runner and often encourages me to run. I'm glad she does because now I love it. There's something refreshing about going for a run outdoors. It helps circulate proper blood flow and releases serotonin in your body, the "happy" chemical that fights stress and boosts self-esteem. For me, I just feel good after a run. It makes the week ahead of me possible to conquer.
Balance your busy life with a run every now and then. Trust me, you'll feel good afterwards.
