Today we went deep into the slums of Kiamaiko, where glares and unwelcoming faces greet foreigners who don’t belong. With my camera gear out, I stood out like a sore thumb and become a target for many glaring eyes. I remember waking up this morning feeling a bit apprehensive filming footage in the slums. But after a bit of prayer and encouragement, I knew how vital it was to get the footage. People need to see what’s out there.
I’m finding that courage is a necessity to the line of work I’ll be doing. In fact, courage is required to run a business. This trip is definitely stretching me, but I know I’ll be a better leader out of it.
