Day 42: You vs. Social Media

Times have changed. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms have become an outlet of expression, and an incredibly fast way to connect with other people. In fact, since starting this blog I've received a lot of great feedback and advice for my business. The caveat is that whatever you say on these platforms leaves lasting impressions on your audience. Usually, actions speak louder than words, but with social media it's the other way around. Indeed, social media has become the newest outlet of your own character.

For me, I'm using social media to help my business by talking to other entrepreneurs and connecting with clients. I'm even booking potential clients I've never met before! There's power in this new platform, but you have to choose your words wisely. Everything you say leaves an impression that can make or break your business. Sarcastic posts might offend your audience. Constant posts every three hours will annoy your audience. Even bad grammar will imply a lack of education. Choose your words wisely. People are watching.

Not only has social media become an extension of your own character, but an extension of your business itself. It gives life to your business and even gives it character. Having all that said, I've come to this conclusion: social media personifies business.
