Day 93: Surprise! I'm Going To Kenya

Do what you love. Know your own bone; gnaw at it, bury it, unearth it, and gnaw it sill.
— Henry David Thoreau

So tomorrow, my work is sending me to Kenya. This may be a little tangent from my business endeavors, however, I feel this is an opportunity for me to learn what it's like to work with an organization as a client. My job is pretty simple: film some footage of the the projects in Kenya, specifically with child sponsorships. Earlier this week, I met with the Global Outreach Director, Lisa. She didn't have a specific vision for the video. All she wanted was a powerful video that encourages people to sponsor a child.

I have a knack for taking an idea and finding a direction to produce a powerful video. When Lisa told me her idea, I immediately envisioned her idea and told her what I thought the direction should be. She loved it!

Now, I'm preparing all my gear for my trip. I'll be blogging along the way, but with my limited connection I won't be posting this specific material for a couple weeks. This is an incredible opportunity to practice working with a client, and to actually go into the field, get my hands dirty, and do the work I'm passionate about. And that's my take away: Be excited for the things you're passionate about.

>> This will be my 3rd time to Kenya. I made a video a few years back about...my shoes. Check it out!
