You can never really be prepared for a baby. When it's time to go to the hospital, adrenaline kicks in as much as the labor pains your wife experiences. Lots of waiting, then more waiting. Hours began to seem like days. Then there's the uncertainty of safety. My wife had to have a c-section with our first child, so chances of a rupture this time around was up in the air. Then at 4:38pm on January 9th, 2017 my wife safely delivered our Isabel Grace. These photos aren't glamorous at all. They're just real. It captured the waiting, our emotions, and the joy of meeting our Darling Isabel for the first time. And for that, I love them.
This is Joseph & Kelsey. We shot their engagement portraits at Riley Wilderness Park in Orange County, California.
This is Joe & Dina, an incredibly sweet couple who love books, family, and of course each other. I had the privilege to shoot their engagement photos, but wasn't able to shoot their wedding. Instead, my team came in to capture their special day on my behalf. When I received the photos and video footage, I was blown away. Not only did my team do an incredible job, but I really got see glimpses of sincere moments between Joe, Dina and their families celebrating that day. My favorite moment was the First Look! It was lovely to see their reception decor as they had their favorite book characters on the different tables. You'll see in the photos & video (coming soon) the genuine joy both sides of their families had celebrating their special day.
This is John & Amanda, and they're a darling couple. I was referred to them by a past client, and we just clicked on their engagement session. They wanted their engagement session surrounded with trees, hills, and all sorts of nature. So we went to Irvine Regional Park in Anaheim Hills, California.
This is Tristan & Anna, and this is their gorgeous wedding in the heart of Kent, England. My wife is British and we used to live in Kent for while. So flying back there was a wonderful opportunity for us to catch up with family & friends. You don't get too many sunny days in England, but their wedding day was perfect. Anna and her bridesmaids got ready in one my most favorite English venues, Eastwell Manor. My wife & I spent our 3rd anniversary there too! The ceremony was held at St. John the Baptist in Mersham, followed by the reception which was held at Chelwood, which is the home of Tristan's wonderful parents. Everything about this wedding was whimsically wonderful, and I had the greatest time capturing their day. I hope you enjoy the photos and video!
This was my first photography workshop, and I had a blast teaching people about lighting, composition, and different camera settings to tell a story in photography. What was even better was this was a charity workshop, meaning that all proceeds went to Thrive, a non-profit organization that helps rescue and restore victims of human trafficking in Thailand. In September 2015, a flood devastated a community they work in, destroying homes and leaving people hopeless. I personally have a heart for mission work, and I wanted to do something to help. So last minute, I planned this charity workshop and donated all the proceeds to help rebuild that community. We ended up raising $300, which was enough to buy the materials needed to build a home! It may not have been much, but it was something. It really goes to show that anyone can use their gifts & talents to make a difference in the world.
This is Casey & Reegis. They got married at the Old Stomping Ground Vineyard, a rustic wedding venue tucked away in the San Bernardino mountains.
This is Joe & Dina. They're one of the sweetest couples I've met and we had a blast shooting their engagement photos at Riley Wilderness Park in Orange County, California. They wanted a "book" themed shoot so they brought a wonderful collection with them along with a picnic blanket, wooden crates, and a marquee they bought from Michaels.
This is Wayde & Katy. I absolutely love this couple. They're not only my dear friends, but they are the loveliest couple I know, and it my absolute honor to shoot and film their wedding. They got married at the Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim Hills, California. If you like trees and wood, then this wedding venue is for you.
This is my family. These photos are dedicated to my wife, Joanne and my soon-to-be son, Isaac. I know it's silly that I shot my own maternity photos, but I selfishly wanted to be the only photographer to capture this special moment in my family's life. We shot these in our home because we wanted something personal and intimate. I mainly used natural lighting with an LED light the as a kicker. I shot these with the Canon "Nifty-Fifty" because that particular lens gives a very soft and classic look. The camera I used was the Canon 6D because I wanted to the wireless feature that connects to the iPhone app to trigger the camera so that I could be in the photos. It was a challenging shoot (going back and forth to set up the camera and checking composition and focus), but capturing this intimate moment meant the world to me as a photographer, and of course, soon-to-be father. Here's to my wife, my son, and the next season as a family.
